- planetary series -
For a time I experimented with making digital planets and gas giants in Blender via the program's node system.
To the right is the gas giant Iapetus, the Greek god of mortality, and its moon Dysis the Greek goddess of sunsets.
Below and to the left is the planet Amphitrite named after the Greek goddess of the sea. Amphitrite is a rocky planet with a thick humid atmosphere and torrential rainfall.
Below and to the right is the planet Chaac which derives its name from the Mayan god of thunder and lightning. Like its namesake, this world has a hellish atmosphere about it on account of it being too close to its system's star.
The 3d model of Lunar Gateway station used in the bottom right image and header for this page was originally created by Andreas Engevold, was downloaded using this link, and was licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).
